What we do
What we care for
Food nutrition and income generation
Meet Peninah Tusingwiire a survivor of domestic violence who was forced to leave her husband’s home with other children due to the injustices he made them face.
She is grateful to ADeFO for having hired land and supported her with maize seeds and not limited to aiding her with best and affordable agriculture practices. She is promising to acquire her own land after the harvests have yielded into good.
In addition, Peninah has been in position to send her children back to school from the money she earns in maize after sale.
Rights awareness and advocacy

Counselling and guidance
Meet Namakula Favour 8yrs, who is a warrior of sickle cells disease in Butunduzi town council. Namakula never used to associate with her fellows due to her condition in fear of other children discriminating her.
ADeFO and her counsellors played a key role in Namakula’s behavioral change and mindset. She is now a student in Top Care Nursery and Primary school in Butunduzi town.
Economic empowerment
ADeFO empowered 22 vulnerable homes with piggery projects which she thought of as an easy to manage and quick to yield project. A warm appreciation to the Rwenyunyuzi community households for having excelled in managing the projects.
Sickle Cell Awareness and Advocacy
It’s hard to make your voice heard when it feels like yours is the only one. As well as getting support from your healthcare team, it can be helpful to join others so that you can get support and share different ways of living with sickle cell disease. Often only warriors of sickle cell disease understand what it’s like to live with it. We plan to form sickle cell communities where like minded people meet to find practical and emotional support.
